The art of Dalibor Chatrný is exceptionally open to various kinds of influences, which he manages to sense and apply in his own unique way. Chatrný's work mixes the thinking of a biologist with the intuition of a poet. He experimented within the context of progressive streams of art at home and abroad, with an affinity for several schools but without ever fully joining one or the other – his style was too independent for this.
Chatrný's work was based on a complicated analysis of various spheres of thinking. He realized that these sphere may grow together and complement the laws of nature and art. In this way, he blurred the boundaries between various creative fields – for instance between the exact exploration of various forms of energy and their influence on the artistic process, between natural processes and artistic creation, and between poetry and its visual interpretation.
