Sculptor Jiří Beránek presents his exhibition Expulsion from the Temple at the Church of St. Lawrence – a desanctified church, but still a sacral place. At least within the European context, the installation's topic is a truly sacral subject – and also a symbolically topical one. Beránek's sculptures, objects, and installations always find themselves in exceptional places filled with an energy that transcends man, or they create such places themselves. In their interaction with the church's Baroque architecture, the forms and shapes of Beránek's installation Expulsion from the Temple create a new situation within the church's interior and give rise to a previously unheard ultrasound of space and time.
