Galerie Klatovy / Klenová is planning the largest exhibition yet of painter Roman Trabura. A representative overview of works by a leading member of the middle generation of Czech artists, the exhibition presents Trabura as a distinctive outsider who ignores artistic and their related temptations. His paintings, which combine lyricism with a sense of the epic, include cultural references and comic-book elements, and often toy with humor or social commentary. A storyteller, he nevertheless always remains a brilliant painter, even in his more expressive endeavors. Although his work has long explored feelings of danger and peril, Trabura is neither a fanatic nor an agitator, but a visionary and long-term observer. The fact that his art is more than a knee-jerk reaction to media saturation is confirmed by his works' longevity and universality.
