Minimalist yet highly technical and skilled stylistic tools ensure that the message always remains in the forefront. Kovařík's obsession with formal reduction and material instrumentalism is inspired by the art of antiquity as well as European monumental art of the 1960s. His familiarity with the possibilities and demands of spatial and industrial design leads to a formal compactness and to the “functionality” of the art objects. Their direct, simple but not simplistic meaningfulness is open to elementary human values to the point where they are in Aristotelian contact with artistic values and aesthetic function. Today, the thesis that truth is beauty may sound banal, but the “re-design” of this postulate is, to use a phrase from politics, “on the agenda”.
